Local Business!- CASHCO
Northwest of town there is a plant that produces values and regulators. We were invited to see the process behind their products.
Our tour guides showed us the ins and outs of the plant and the business office. We saw the metal being milled into parts.
To be safe, we wore protective googles and close-toed shoes.
Mr. Johnson even let us weigh our whole class on the freight scale! Whoa- over 1000 pounds worth of 2nd graders!
Thank you so much to the fabulous- Cashco Inc. We had a great trip!!!
Beef- It's what's for class!
May is Beef month! The local Cattlewomen's Group presented to our 2nd grade classes about beef production. From farm to packing plant all the way to our school lunch! It was a great day!
Thank you ladies for a great lesson!

SPANISH
It was a pleasure to host the Ellsworth High School Spanish 3 & 4 students in our classroom this year. As a part of the High School curriculum- Spanish students are asked to prepare, organize and lead Spanish lessons in our grade school classes.
This year Danny and Noah were our High School Spanish teachers. They did a great job!
We learned color words, sport words and even some names of fruits.
Our favorite activity was playing futbol!
We had a fun game of soccer going on out at the playground!
Even Senora got into the game! GOAL!!!!
It is always a great learning oppurtunity for our students! Thanks Danny and Noah for making our Spanish lessons so much fun!!!
And we WON!
Rolling Hills Zoo in Salina, Kansas issued a challenge to local schools and classrooms- to have a penny war. The class that could raise the most money would be given a free field trip to the ZOO! And guess what... We WON!!!
On our trip at the zoo, we met Penny the Mascot of the new African Penguins on exhibit at the zoo.
We learned about the food the penguins eat!
We even had a chance to be silly!!!!
The money we raised for the African penguins was then sent out to make 4 new nests in the penguins natural habitat. 4 Nests! That's AWESOME!
While at the zoo, we touched a penguin model. We handled a turtle and celebrated with an ice cream party.
How Fun it was for us to win!!! We even go the right to name a penguin... we chose PENNY!!!! For all the pennies we collected in the jar! She is beautiful!
